  • What kind of Huawei inverters are on the market?

Huawei has Residential, Commercial and Utility scale string inverters on the market.

  • What are residential inverters?

The residential inverters of Huawei cover the need of household systems with modern design, easy installation, battery and optimizer ready solution (2-5KTL single phase) and a powerful mobile app. The residential products are to following: SUN2000L 2,3,3.68, 4, 4.6, 5KTLs (single phase), SUN2000 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10KTL-M0s.

  • What are commercial inverters?

The commercial inverters cover the smaller and middle size rooftop and ground mounted projects including 12, 15, 17, 20KTL-M0s, 33KTL-A, 36KTL and 60KTL-M0. These inverters come with multiple MPPTs, PLC/MBUS communication (33KTL-A, 36KTL and 60KTL-M0), SmartLogger1000/1000A for the most efficient communication and powerful mobile tools and apps for the help of the quick installation and commissioning.

  • What are utility-scale inverters?

Utility scale inverters cover the most powerful solutions of Huawei for the biggest projects: 105KTL-H1, 185KTL-H1 using 1500Vdc/800Vac for the highest efficiency, SmartLogger2000 for the top quality system setup, and the premium IV Curve analysis.

  • What are the monitoring devices of Huawei?

Huawei inverters communicate with the monitoring system, Neteco and FusionSolar, using 2 methods: SUN2000L 2-5KTLs and 3-20KTL-M0s are able to communicate with the server on their own using the built in WIFI module or the WLAN/4G dongle. In case of system containing more than 10 devices SmartLogger1000A/2000 is used for the communication between the inverters, the external or 3rd party devices, and the monitoring system.

  • What is PLC/MBUS?

PLC and MBUS is the exclusive technology used by Huawei for the communication between the inverters and the monitoring device (SmartLogger), using the AC cables. This means that in systems using PLC/MBUS there is no need to prepare the RS485 cable communication line, which makes the installation and the maintenance cheaper and easier.

  • What is the difference between PLC/MBUS and RS485 communication?

PLC/MBUS uses the AC cables for communication with the monitoring device (SmartLogger), but the communication can be set up through RS485 connecting the inverters in daisy chain with the last one connected to the SmartLogger. The advantage of PLC/MBUS is that there is no need to buy and install extra communication cable between the inverters and the monitoring device, which makes the project cheaper and more reliable.

  • Does Huawei inverters support optimized systems?

SUN2000L inverters have Anti-Islanding protection, DC reverse polarity protection, Insulation monitoring, DC lightening protection, AC lightening protection, Residual current monitoring, AC overcurrent protection, AC short-circuit protection, AC overvoltage protection, Over-heat protection.

SUN2000 3-20KTL-M0 has Input-side disconnection device, Anti-Islanding protection, DC reverse polarity protection, Insulation monitoring, DC lightening protection, AC lightening protection, Residual current monitoring, AC overcurrent protection, AC short-circuit protection, AC overvoltage protection, Arc fault protection, Ripple receiver control, Integrated PID recovery.

SUN2000 33KTL-A, 36KTL, 60KTL-M0 has Input-side Disconnection Device, Anti-islanding Protection, AC Overcurrent Protection, DC Reverse-polarity Protection, PV-array String Fault Monitoring, DC Surge Arrester Type II, AC Surge Arrester Type II, DC Insulation Resistance Detection, Residual Current Monitoring Unit

Monitoring System

  • Does Huawei inverters support remote monitoring?

Yes, remote monitoring is one of the high quality services Huawei provides for your system. The inverters can be accessed directly on site, and also are available from all kind of setup from your office or home.

  • What is the monitoring system for residential or smaller projects?

FusionSolar is a modern UI for remote monitoring your residential or commercial rooftop project up to 10 devices. Once the inverters are set up on site to communicate with FusionSolar and the local router, you have a powerful tool in your hand to monitor and control your system from your computer or mobile from anywhere and anytime.

  • What is the monitoring system for commercial projects?

NetEco is an ultimate solution for commercial systems. You can fine tune all aspects and elements of your system from your computer or mobile. Daily reports, alarm notifications in email or sms, system updates, log and performance data extraction – just to mention some of the features of Neteco, all this in a handy and modern interface.

  • How do I register to FusionSolar?

On the following link, under the Installer Registration option you can input all the data of your company: eu5.fusionsolar.huawei.com

  • How do I register to Neteco?

Please contact your Huawei reseller or distributor to support you in the registration to Neteco: 195.88.238.170

  • What kind of additional devices do I need to connect the inverter to FusionSolar?

In case of SUN2000L 2-5 KTL (single phase) the WIFI modul is indluded in the inverter, which has to be connected to the local router to have access to FusionSolar. You have to go through a simple installation Wizard to set up the connection. 3-10KTL-M0s have WLAN dongle included in the package, and a 4G Dongle can be ordered separately as well. The setup is the same as for 2-5KTL. 12-20KTL-M0s have no dongle included, but WLAN or 4G dongle can be ordered separately for them.

  • What kind of additional devices do I need to connect the inverter to Neteco?

In case of 33KTL-A, 36KTL and 60KTL-M0 or above SmartLogger1000/1000A/2000 is needed for the communication to be set up properly. SmartLogger communicates with a local router or you can insert 2/3/4G sim card in SmartLogger1000A and 2000 for mobile connection

  • What is WIFI and 4G dongle?

USB devices which helps the communication between the inverter and the monitoring system via WLAN connected do the local router or via 2/3/4G for mobile connection.

  • Which inverters have built-in communication device?

SUN2000L 2-5KTLs have WIFI module built in the device. 3-10KTL-M0s have WLAN dongle included in the box, which can be connected to the USB port of the inverter

  • When do I need SmartLogger?

In case your system contains more than 10 devices including inverters, power or environment sensors. Or in case you want to connect your system to a 3rd party monitoring device. Also PLC/MBUS is only available with SmartLogger. Otherwise the device is not needed.

  • What is the difference between SmartLogger1000/1000A/2000
